Hornady ELD-X Bullets

Hornady ELD-X® (Extremely Low Drag – eXpanding) Bullets are precision hunting projectiles designed to combine high ballistic coefficients, match-level accuracy, and controlled expansion across a wide range of practical hunting distances.

The Heat Shield® polymer tip is engineered to resist aerodynamic heating and maintain its shape throughout flight, helping preserve the bullet’s ballistic coefficient. A streamlined secant ogive, optimized boattail, and highly concentric AMP® jacket further improve aerodynamic efficiency and consistency.

On impact, the Heat Shield tip initiates expansion, while a progressively thicker jacket and InterLock® ring help maintain core-and-jacket integrity and support penetration. Hornady designs the ELD-X to provide controlled terminal performance at both higher and lower impact velocities.
