Hornady Interlock Bullets

Hornady InterLock® Bullets are traditional hunting projectiles designed for controlled expansion, reliable penetration, and dependable terminal performance. Their exposed lead tips help initiate expansion, while Hornady’s secant ogive profile supports efficient flight and consistent accuracy.

The defining feature is Hornady’s InterLock® ring, a raised section inside the jacket that mechanically locks the lead core and jacket together during expansion. This design helps retain bullet mass and energy for deeper penetration.

A precisely tapered jacket controls expansion across a range of impact velocities, while internal grooves weaken the upper jacket to encourage consistent mushrooming. Most InterLock bullets also include a cannelure for secure crimping and additional core-and-jacket retention.
