With more than a century of history, Vihtavuori is a Finnish manufacturer recognized internationally for smokeless reloading powders. Propellant production began at its Vihtavuori facility in 1926, and the company continues to manufacture its powders in-house with an emphasis on consistency, quality control and predictable performance.

N100 Series Powders

The Vihtavuori N100 Series consists primarily of single-base rifle propellants. The family includes numerous powders with different characteristics for established rifle-cartridge applications.

N300 Series Powders

The N300 Series includes single-base powders intended for handgun cartridges and other applications. Individual powders within the series differ in their characteristics and published applications.

N500 High-Energy Series

Vihtavuori's N500 Series consists of high-energy rifle propellants containing nitroglycerin in addition to nitrocellulose. Current products include powders such as N540, N550, N555, N560, N565, N568 and N570.

Finnish Manufacturing & Consistency

Vihtavuori manufactures its propellants and the nitrocellulose used in them in-house, giving the company control over the manufacturing process. The company emphasizes lot-to-lot consistency, clean-burning characteristics and temperature stability across its powder lineup.
